Ash Sarkar is a writer, lecturer, journalist, political commentator alongside Director and Contributing Editor of Novara Media. She has written for the Guardian, Independent and Huffington Post, with regular appearances on British television and radio. She has been called one of ‘the internet’s best left-wing thinkers’ by the Spectator, and was named Media Personality of the Year by the Asian Media Awards in 2019. Sarkar also lectures at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, and has taught Global Politics at Anglia Ruskin University. Minority Rule is her first book.
Shon Faye is the author of the acclaimed bestsellers The Transgender Issue and Love in Exile. Her writing focuses on pop culture, gender, sexuality and mental health, with publications across the Guardian, Independent, British Vogue and VICE among others. She was formerly a video content maker for Novara Media and podcast host for two series of Call Me Mother, a series interviewing LGBTQ+ elders. Faye now writes Dear Shon, an advice column about dating and relationships for American Vogue.
Sophie Gilbert is a London-based staff writer at The Atlantic covering pop culture and entertainment. In 2024, she won the National Magazine Award for Reviews and Criticism, and was a finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in Criticism. Her book Girl on Girl, was published by Penguin Press in 2025. A previous collection of her work, On Womanhood: Bodies, Literature, Choice was published by Zando in 2023.
